The GA Bello Foundation for Wellness is a South DeKalb–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that stands in the gap for individuals and families facing barriers to wellness. Founded and led by social workers, our mission is to promote equity, access, and healing by providing direct support and community-based resources that restore dignity and hope.

We believe wellness extends beyond healthcare... it includes food security, mental well-being, and social connection. Through local partnerships, advocacy, and hands-on outreach, we serve as a bridge between need, access, and opportunity.

Our Initiatives

The GA Bello Foundation for Wellness serves communities across Georgia, filling the gap where access to wellness, mental health, and community support often falls short. Rooted in South DeKalb, our work extends statewide through programs that promote equity, access, and healing for individuals and families navigating life transitions and challenges.Our focus is simple: to meet people where they are, restore dignity, and build pathways to whole-person wellness.

 

Nourishing Hope

A year-round initiative providing grocery gift cards and essential resources directly to dialysis patients and their families across Georgia. This program supports food access and dignity by allowing individuals to choose foods that meet their medical and personal needs.

Beyond Basketball 

Beyond Basketball was created to address the mental and emotional challenges athletes face when the game ends ..moments when identity, purpose, and direction are being redefined. In partnership with the Southwest DeKalb Boys Basketball Program, this initiative brings together mental health professionals, former athletes, and community leaders to normalize these conversations and equip young men with tools to navigate life beyond the court.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

We collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, small businesses, and local organizations to host wellness events, distribute resources, and expand access to care across Georgia. Every partnership strengthens our mission of standing in the gap and creating community-centered solutions that foster lasting impact.​

Direct Support & Case Management

We provide hands-on assistance to individuals and families navigating complex systems. Our team connects clients to vital community resources, including SNAP and benefits enrollment, transportation assistance, therapy and coaching services, and other wellness supports. We walk alongside clients as they work toward sustainable change, offering guidance and advocacy every step of the way.
