At the GA Bello Foundation for Wellness, we believe that healing should be accessible, equitable, and rooted in dignity. Too often, dialysis patients and families managing chronic illness are overlooked during the holidays, a time when financial strain and isolation feel especially heavy.

That’s why we created Nourishing Hope. This annual holiday initiative provides $50 gift cards to 200 dialysis patients across five clinics in South DeKalb. These gift cards empower patients to purchase their own renal-safe groceries, giving them the freedom to enjoy holiday meals that are both safe and meaningful.

Why It Matters

• Many dialysis patients live on fixed incomes of less than $1,200 a month.

• Standard food pantry items =high in sodium, potassium, or phosphorus =can worsen their condition.

• A small, intentional gift can make the difference between feeling invisible and being recognized.

Our Impact

With every gift card distributed, we are offering more than nourishment,  we are offering hope, dignity, and independence. This initiative ensures that patients are not left behind during the holidays and that they have the resources to care for themselves and their families in ways that honor both their health and their humanity.
